“Creativity is Very Hard to Rank”, Brickman on ‘LEGO Masters: Grand Masters’

LEGO Masters has proven that LEGO is more than a past time for kids, it’s an expression of creativity and genius.

Whether it’s the creativity of the contestants, the nostalgia factor or the humour and passion that Hamish and ‘Brickman’ bring – LEGO Masters has been a big success.

So much so that it’s returning April 10 for its fifth and biggest season yet with the winners and top teams from previous seasons facing off to determine who is the best of the best. Who is the LEGO Grand Master?

96five’s Ken and Nicky got the lowdown from Ryan ‘Brickman’ McNaught on what we can expect from the new season of LEGO Masters: Grand Master.

“I don’t want to give too much away but get your tissues ready” Brickman said.

“These contestants are so creative and they are such lovely people. When I send them home unfortunately that’s the rules, it’s a bit of a bummer, so yeah I do tear up a bit”.

While Brickman is the certified LEGO professional on the show, he told Nicky that the contestants give him a run for his money.

“Most of the things that I build, I don’t have someone like Hamish coming around cracking jokes at me all the time, trying to distract me. They’re very difficult to compare.”

This year the challenges are tougher than ever including LEGO worlds suspended high above the ground; an exciting movie mayhem scene using motors and explosives; and a rocket being launched into the sky.

There will also be special guest appearances from Sophie Monk, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki and – to celebrate 100 years of Disney storytelling – the iconic character Mickey Mouse.

LEGO Masters: Grand Masters premiers Monday, April 10 at 7.30PM on Channel 9 and 9NOW.
