The iconic Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers will see a month-long celebration of food, music and of course, flowers!
The event is headlined by over 190,000 spectacular blooms, flourishing under the hands of an army of Council gardeners. The best viewing places being Laurel Bank Park, Queens Park and the Botanic Gardens, Spring Bluff Station Gardens and the all city’s gorgeous public spaces and parks.
The Grand Central Floral Parade – the event that stops the city, with thousands of families lining the streets to watch – will be held on Saturday 17 September at 10am. In the Botanic Gardens at Queens Park, the ever popular Ferris Wheel program has been extended to run 16 to 25 September from 9am to 8pm, coinciding with the stunning Night Garden experience which will shine all month.
96five’s Jess Drummond caught up with James O’Shea, Portfolio Chair – Environment & Community Committee, Toowoomba Regional Council to learn more about the carnival.
“Spring in the best time of the year in Toowoomba, the Garden City” James said.

If wandering through beautiful gardens isn’t for you, there’s still something for you to enjoy on the range this September.
The famous three-day Festival of Food and Wine will be held from 9 to 11 September, showcasing the best in regional produce and Australian music in Queens Park.
Much-loved MasterChef Australia winner, author, and champion of local flavours, Julie Goodwin will be a special guest at this year’s Festival of Food and Wine.
The Petals and Pups program at the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers means canines can enjoy the flowers as much as their owners.
Petal and Pups is a salute to Toowoomba’s first canine Ambassa-dog, ‘Puppy’ the Pomeranian. Petal and Pups features more than 20 dog-friendly activities and 27 off-leash parks.
New at the Carnival of Flowers in 2022 is the Teddy Bear’s Picnic at Picnic Point. The Teddy Bear’s picnic will feature shows, fairy bread making, face painting, food stalls and a Teddy Bear Parade.
