Nicole and Deonta Bennett had been planning a pregnancy photo shoot in the lead up to her March 25 due date, but the family was dealt with a blow when Deonta unexpectedly passed away on December 5.
Wanting to honour he late husband’s wishes, Nicole went ahead with the photoshoot and found Mississippi local photographer, Sidney Conley, who was able to add some very special Photoshop touches to the photoshoot. Sidney digitally altered the photos to include Deonta.
“I wanted to do something special because he’s been there for my son since day one,” Nicole told ABC News. “It’s memories for my son of his father and for my daughter who will never meet her father, it’s memories for her as well.”
“It brings me to tears, looking at the photos myself,” Conley said. “Just how I edited [the photos] with him looking down on them, it’s showing that he’s making sure they’re OK.”
“I expected them to be good, but they came out perfect,” Nicole added. “[My husband] was a very down-to-earth man, so he probably would’ve had our photographer laughing like he did during our engagement photos.”
Since posting the photos on Facebook, they’ve now been shared over 100,000 times.
