Art to Save the Sea

Our sea life is precious. However every day the amount of waste, plastic, and rubbish that ends up in our oceans is increasing.

The Washed Ashore Project was created by Angela Haseltine Pozzi to raise awareness and draw attention to this increasing issue. Artists and sculptors came together to create a total of 17 marine wildlife sculptures constructed completely from rubbish found in the ocean, to represent the large amount of plastic pollution that ends up in our seas.

Earlier this year a selection of these incredible art works where featured at The Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington DC. Kat from 96five’s Promotions team, while on holiday in the US, snapped some picture of these impressive sculptures. From seals, penguins, otters and starfish, these artists really did an amazing job.
