Flossie Dickey celebrated her 110th birthday this week, and as you can imagine a notable birthday like that caught the attention of local media. Nichole Mischke from the US Fox news network was sent to interview the birthday girl and conduct a live TV celebration.
“Are you excited for your birthday party?” asks the cheerful reporter. “Not one bit,” replies Flossie.
We’re not sure if Flossie was genuinely not interested or just having a laugh at the reporter’s expense but what played out was nothing but hilarious. “She’s a jokester,” said one of the carers at Flossie’s Care Centre. So, it’s no surprise then that the awkward encounter between the overly cheerful reporter and the underwhelmed great-great-grandmother quickly went viral.
And what is the secret to living to 110 years old? “I don’t know. I don’t fight it. I live it.”
