What might the heart of Father God and the words of Father God sound like, if He was to write a series of love letters to you?

Love Letters from the Father, the powerful new season of The Secret Place podcast, launches Sunday 13 April — and it’s a deeply personal experience like never before.

Hosted by Derek Peters, Executive Pastor at Gateway Baptist Church in Brisbane, this beloved devotional podcast has always invited listeners to pause, reflect, and encounter God in the quiet moments of life. But in this new season, the focus shifts in a new direction — instead of speaking about God, each episode speaks from His perspective.

That’s right — this time, you’re not just hearing biblical insight; you’re hearing what the voice of God might sound like if He were writing directly to you.

Titled Love Letters from the Father, the next season of The Secret Place imagines a series of heartfelt letters penned from God to His children.

“I realise this is a tall order,” Derek explains.

“There is nothing in me that wants to bring any disrespect to the God I love so much by reducing Him in any way from His rightful place of majesty… but like the psalmists and poets of human history, many have tried to give voice to the thoughts of God that they have felt reflect the intent and power of sacred scripture, but also resonate from their own experience”.

This is what these five episodes will attempt to do, express the heart and words of God in the form of five love letters.

New to The Secret Place?

Derek Peters brings decades of pastoral experience and spiritual leadership to the mic, guiding listeners gently into God’s presence.

Derek has a Masters Degree in Christian Leadership and is undertaking further post graduate research examining the process of human transformation, asking the question, what are the transforming conditions, within the human heart, that result in lasting behavioural change and new life.
