96five’s Sarah Petchell has taken out the multiple gold medals in this year’s Invictus Games, held in The Hague.

On Thursday night (Australian time) Sarah claimed the gold medal in the Women’s 1 Minute Row Sprints.

A strong performance saw the Australian co-captain finish well ahead of her rivals, rowing a distance of 319 metres in her allotted 60 seconds.

Lisa McCranie of the USA finished 2nd with a distance of 307 metres, with Great Britain’s Victoria Ross taking the bronze medal, covering 303 metres.

The gold medal is in improvement on Sarah’s bronze medal result in the indoor rowing achieved at the Sydney Invictus Games in 2018.

Overnight Sarah has successfully defended her 2018 gold medal taking the gold in the Women’s Heavyweight Powerlifting.  Sarah managed lifts of 85 kilos, 92 kilos and 100 kilos, with her final lift being 5 kilos above her previous personal best.

It was once again such a dominant performance from Sarah that the silver medallist’s top lift was 33 kilos less than Sarah’s new personal best.
