The research, conducted by the Australian National University, found that babies who are solely fed breast milk for the first six months of life are one and a half times more likely to develop a nut allergy than those introduced to food or other fluids earlier.
But researchers say the health benefits of breast milk far outweigh the potential risks of developing nut allergies.
