The prolific Brisbane songwriter, arranger and author has penned Harmony Day Song to celebrate this year’s commemoration, and to remind us that we have more in common than what has traditionally divided us.
“This song is really for everyone,” Donna told 96five. “If we look at children, they instantly make new playground friendships, with no bias and judgement. They understand how to love, they’re full of hope and we all need to be more like them so that future generations experience peace.”
Donna said that her composition for Harmony Day was driven by that desire for peace, and the wider message around Harmony Day.
“Harmony Day celebrates us all. It represents the possibility and desire to work towards world peace. I think everyone deeply desires peace on earth; I know this is certainly true for me!”

After working with artists as diverse as Lior, Damien Leith and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Donna has enlisted the vocal talents of former Ten Tenor Nathan Kneen to feature on the track.
“Nathan is such a gifted artist and a total gem to work with. A talented tenor, a loving family man, gifted educator and a heart of pure integrity. Nathan’s voice is beautifully rich and leading the lyrics with such humility, hope & conviction.
“I hope his performance reminds us all to be a little more caring, inclusive, accepting & harmonious after listening to the beauty of his tones!”
Harmony Day Song is out now on Spotty Kites/MGM and is available to stream where ever you listen to music.
