Brisbane Christian artist Grace Coleman has released her debut album ‘heart sigh’, which she says is the perfect album to listen to in your quiet time with God.
Grace spoke to 96five’s Joe and Iris on their Saturday morning show, revealing her heart behind the album.
Music has been part of Grace’s life from a young age, writing love songs as a teenager and even having some success releasing covers on YouTube.

At the age of eighteen, Grace realised that her relationship with God wasn’t healthy and she made the decision to surrender all her aspirations to the Lord with a letter.
“I wrote everything I wanted to do in music and my life on a piece of paper, and I gave it to the Lord,” Grace told 96five’s Joe and Iris.
“I said to Him, this is yours and I don’t get this unless you give it back to me.”
The following years were formative for Grace, praying, writing and releasing singles along the way, leading her to the release of her debut album, a childhood dream come true.
“I’ve been wanting to put an album out since I was a little girl. To be able to put the words in my mouth that I have an album out, is really surreal.”
The opening track on ‘heart sigh’ is ‘greenhouse’, a beautiful reminder the we don’t need to strive to receive God’s love, but we need only to sit in His presence.
Grace said that the story behind ‘greenhouse’, was how God moved when she desperately needed Him, in a season of anxiety and fear.
“I was in worship and I felt the Lord tell me to google greenhouses, which is so random. But I was reading about how greenhouses are the perfect incubator for growth, and I felt like God was telling me that His presence is like a greenhouse. When I come to Him, I don’t have to strive, I can just sit and let myself be loved.”
