In The King of Kings, renowned author Charles Dickens, voiced by Kenneth Branagh, recounts the life of Jesus to his son, Walter (Roman Griffin Davis).
This narrative framework allows viewers to experience key moments of Christ’s journey—from His miraculous birth and transformative teachings to His profound sacrifices—through the innocent and curious eyes of a child. The film draws inspiration from Dickens’ own work, The Life of Our Lord, adding depth and authenticity to the portrayal.
The film boasts an impressive ensemble of voice talent, including Oscar Isaac as Jesus Christ, Pierce Brosnan as Pontius Pilate, Mark Hamill as King Herod, Uma Thurman as Catherine Dickens, Ben Kingsley as High Priest Caiaphas, and Forest Whitaker as Peter.
