What about music within the church; how much importance should we place on the arts in a Christian setting?
Dr Maeve Louise Heaney is an academic at the the Australian Catholic University where she is the Director of the Xavier Centre for Theological Formation in the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy. As well as working as a senior lecturer, Meave’s field of research is music in Christian faith.
She is also an accomplished singer songwriter, having performed around the world and has released a number of albums.
In this special edition of Family Worship, Maeve speaks about how music and the arts has been viewed in Australia, both in and out of the church, and why we need to place a stronger emphasis on the arts.
