efestTonight we spoke about Things to Avoid Doing At Gigs. For the sake of your fellow gig mates, it’s important you know gig etiquette.

This is what I had to say on the show tonight:[podcast]/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Live-Gig-Advice-Nite-Alive.mp3[/podcast]

I’ve since revised the list and added a few. Here is my Top 5 Things that you should avoid if trying to make friends at a gig.

5.  Talking on the phone while the artist is performing

Come on guys. You paid $50 for a ticket, probs not the best time to be catching up on the ‘goss’.

4.  Pushing Through

“Excuse me, my friends are down the front.” No they’re not bro. We all know your just pushing through.

3.  Shoulder Rides

This is a delicate one. I know some people are shorter than others and want to get a view of the performer. However, having been the person directly behind someone who has ‘giraffed it’; it’s really annoying. It’s like a solar eclipse where all of a sudden everything goes dark. I couldn’t see the performer OR the big screens to see where the action is at. If you have to do it, only for a minute or two.

2. Singing too loudly

Look, we all enjoy belting out the bands classics; however  sometimes the volume just needs to be toned down just a touch. I’m not saying the guy next to me isn’t a good singer, I just enjoy the band’s version of their song better.

1. Taking photos with iPads

Phone’s are fine, but the line is drawn with iPads. It’s like you’re waving a boogie board  in the face of everyone behind you.   I guess the upside is they get to see your video before it goes on Youtube.
